April 23rd - Police and CPR Instruction - during the school day and a list of students needing this instruction has been posted at JLA
April 27th - UTSA College Visit - Flyer attached. Please sign up with Ms. Santos or Ms. Simpson. If you are already a graduate and would like to attend, please email Ms. Santos or contact us at JLA 210-662-2411.
April 28th - TSI testing at JLA. IF you are planning to attend an Alamo community college and never took your TSI tests (ELAR/Math), please sign up with Mrs. Santos.
April 30th - SENIOR PARENT NIGHT - required for all of our graduates to attend; pick up your cap/gown and bring any items that need to be turned in (Chromebook/Chargers/FAFSA Submission Summary/College Acceptance Letters and/or Scholarship Awards) and the opportunity to sign up for Senior Pictures scheduled for May 2nd.

Please be on campus by 8:00 AM with your Chromebook and Charger. Breakfast orders will be taken so that you can eat before taking a STAAR test. Lunch orders will available if you would like to have a lunch.
If you have any scheduled appointments on a STAAR Test Day, please make arrangements to reschedule your appointment on a different day.

JLA Parents and Students,
We sure did have a great week and there is more to come as we move forward with graduation 2026. The high point of the week was celebrating and recognizing the Years of Service for our JLA Faculty and Staff: 25 Years - Mrs. Santos, Counselor and Mrs. Rodriguez, Principal Secretary; 30 Years - Mrs. Simpson, High School Math Teacher. Congratulations and well deserved!
We held our Annual Occupation Symposium where our students participate in breakout sessions with a Mock Interview, Career Exploration, College Prep, and Financial Literacy. We thank our interviewers for giving us their time to interview students: Mrs. Burton, Director of Federal & Grants Program; Ms. Wohler, Specialist Federal & Grants Programs; Ms. James JISD Attendance Officer; Ms. Faulkner, Texas Workforce Solutions; and Ms. Jones JISD School Board Trustee. We appreciate you for sharing your experience, knowledge, and time.
Even better, our Social Worker, Ms. Cruz coordinated Culture Day where Faculty, Staff, and Students brought food to share and wore their cultural clothes to represent. It was the best way to come together and share our diversity at JLA. Thank you to everyone for sharing your culture through personal experiences and sharing your favorite foods. Let’s do this again!
The best part of this week had to be having more JLA students reach their goal of meeting the high school requirements for graduation. Seniors have less than 30 days to earn their course credits to be able to walk the stage. This is their time to learn and rise up to meet their goal of becoming a high school graduate in the Class of 2026.

JLA will have Saturday School tomorrow from 8:00-12:00. Parents, please speak with your student about attend for required loss of credit because each student received a personal invite with how many hours they to earn back their course credit.
