Dr de la Pena greets Senior student and family
Judson Learning Academy (JLA) kicked off the new school year with a successful Parent Night, welcoming students and families for an evening filled with information, connection, and excitement. We were thrilled with the great turnout as our JLA team came together to help families feel prepared and supported for the year ahead.
School Counselor Ms. Gonzalez welcomed students by providing their class schedules and helping them prepare for a successful start. Social Worker Ms. Cruz shared valuable school and community resources while engaging students with a fun “Spin the Wheel” activity that gave them an opportunity to share just how excited they were to return to school.
Our Principal Secretary did an amazing job welcoming and assisting families from both Kirby Middle School and Judson Learning Academy, helping create a warm and organized experience from the moment families arrived.
JLA teachers had the opportunity to meet their students and parents, introduce themselves as content-area experts, and share important information about classroom expectations, procedures, routines, and the learning experiences students can expect this year.
Families also met with Assistant Principal Dr. de la Pena to discuss important topics including attendance expectations, transportation, and special programs and services available to support JLA students.
Parent Night was a wonderful reminder that student success is a partnership between students, families, educators, and our community. We appreciate every family who joined us and every JLA staff member who helped make the evening a success.
